Interesting article about Greg Abbott and how much distance was there between him and partisan charges of voter fraud.

I am hosting an education session for people interested in Voter Protection. It merges information regarding poll watchers and election judges and will cover important topics and situations that can happen in polling locations and will offer tips to avoid or counteract inappropriate conduct which may create suppression.

Thursday, July 17, 2014 AT 6pm at HCDP headquarters. Please RSVP to gemsbyj@aol.com.

Jaime Casablanca depending upon where you live, you will be also voting for Emergencies Services. I am not sure about the senate 4 seat being in your area. Go to Harrisvotes.com enter your address in the find your ballot, the exact issues and ballot will show. You can then go to the different agencies web for additional info.

In Cyfair (NW Harris County) there is a bond election (CYFair ISD) in May 10, 2014. Is there anything else in the ballot we should be aware off?

Early voting ends Friday, please vote. Ballot by mail recipients must mail their ballots in so they arrive no later than 5PM March 4. They can NOT be personally delivered and they MUST be signed by the voter’ s official signature on the envelope in the signature box. We only received a little over 12,000 applications for ballot by mail and only 4400 ballots have been returned. If you have one, please fill it out, sign it and mail it in.

Morgan Rauch, if you vote at an early voting location, just ask for the Democratic ballot. There is nothing you need to do in advance. At the early voting locations, you will be asked in which party’s primary do you wish to vote. On election day, you just have to go to the correct party’s primary polling place. Chances are the polling locations may be different and if they are in the same building, they may be in different rooms. It is a good idea to call and ask for the specific location and room that you need. I have heard about misdirection occurring when you walk up to the wrong room or location, so know it in advance and avoid frustration by a simple phone call before you leave home.

Our City Council budget of hundreds of millions of dollars is entrusted to our elected representatives. There is an important runoff race for several city council positions. So far less than 12,000 residents have voted. Do you trust that the few will share your opinion? Early voting ends TUESDAY. Election day is Saturday. PLEASE VOTE!

PJs & AJs…when there is difference in DL and VR name,,,before calling Clerk’s ofc…ask voter for all the names and addresses they could be listed under. During EV found people on the third name. And don’t forget to do the "similiar name "affidavit. Try everything before doing a provisional – bacuse most pople will not have or take the time to “cure”

Poll watcher training is scheduled for Monday Nov 4th at HDCP from 7PM-9PM
HCDP Fair Elections needs some poll watchers to stand by to check on complaints as a result of Voter ID issues and misinterpretation of substantially similar names could result in voter suppression. See the calendar to rsvp.

The Texas Secretary of State has posted a power point on Substantially Similar names. If anyone thinks that they will have a problem with their name variances between their TDL and Voters Registration should print out the power point and bring it with them. Do a Google search on TX SOS substantially similar PowerPoint. It will be the first website in your search. Scroll down to that power point, download and print or ask me to send it to you.
